Across rural Tanzania, farmers work tirelessly, yet huge challenges hold them back.

Low-quality seeds, a lack of farming equipment and limited access to markets are pushing many farmers and their families closer to extreme poverty. We are working to help address this.

As part of the Farm to Market Alliance project, we are supporting selected farmers and business people to provide essential services that will help farmers increase their production and grow their incomes.

Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth is a determined woman, leading her community towards a brighter future.

Before joining the project, Elizabeth and the other members of the Sayuni farmers’ co-operative were struggling to earn a reliable income from their crops. But taking part in training from Farm Africa has helped to change that.

“We used to harvest three sacks of sunflower seeds per acre, but now we get 10 to 15 bags! We have enough to eat and even a surplus for selling.” Elizabeth told us.

With newfound confidence, the co-operative invested in a combine harvester, thanks to business training and supplier connections, allowing them to farm more efficiently and transform their livelihoods.

Incredible change happens when the determination of people like Elizabeth meets the dedicated support of people like you.
