Annual Review 2022

718,000

people reached across eastern Africa in 2022.

Behind that number lie 718,000 stories of lives changed. Farmers who have been able to nearly quadruple the productivity of the maize they grow. Rural families whose household income has nearly tripled. Urban residents who now have access to a constant supply of fresh, nutritious vegetables.

In this year’s Annual Review you’ll read about:

  • Sabrina Dhowre Elba’s visit to our Growing Futures project in Kenya
  • how we’re helping local communities make a living from forest-friendly businesses in the Bale Eco-region of Ethiopia
  • support we’ve given to small and growing agri-businesses through our DECIDE and Cultivate programmes in Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia
  • our work to kickstart economic development, build communities’ resilience to climate change and conserve biodiversity in Amhara, the Central Rift Valley and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia
  • the early days of Farm Africa in our tribute to our co-founder David Campbell OBE, who sadly died in December 2022
